Today I installed an open source video streaming solution called Plex Media Server on RHEL 6.5. After installation, I started the service.
# /etc/init.d/plexmediaserver start
On entering the url http://localhost:32400/web in firefox, the Plex home page was suppose to get opened. But the I got the “404 page not found” error. I resolved the problem by following this uber-helpful StackExchange post. It was the SELINUX issue. And disabled it.
When I restarted the machine, I got the error:
Attempting to boot from CD-ROM Attempting to boot from USB DriveKey(C:) An Operating System wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an OS. Press any key to restart.
As the error clearly says, unplugging the USB drive that was inserted and restarting the server would resume to normal booting. I did however got the insight from this post.
Such a simple thing, yet I burned one hour. So the lesson is, in RHEL, before booting, make sure no external hard drives, flash drives are inserted. By default RHEL searches these inserted medium for bootloader. If it doesn’t find one, you’ll get the aforesaid error.
