OS X 10.11 El Capitan

OS X 10.11 code named El Capitan is the latest OS release for Mac. El Capitan succeeds the OS X 10.10 Yosemite introduced last year (2014). Following the California landmark-based naming scheme introduced with OS X Mavericks, El Capitan was named after a rock formation in Yosemite National Park.El Capitan’s focus is to refine and enhance the features already built in Yosemite.

UX improvements include cursor detection by rapid random movement of the mouse, enhancement to spotlight and split view mode. Sensible improvements to Safari, plus new gestures and inline email edit in Mail.

The most compelling update is the integration of Metal with El Capitan. Hence the low-level, low-overhead and high performance graphics library available for pro apps and killer games.
